شنو كتعني الأغنية
«يا بنت الناس» كلام موجّه لبنت: الأفعال والضماير اللي كتخاطبها كلها مؤنثة. أما الشخص اللي كيغني، النص ما كيبيّنش واش راجل ولا مرا، وحتى حنا ما كنحسموش. «بنت الناس» ترجمناها حرفيا «fille des gens / daughter of the people»، وكاينة قراءة أخرى، «fille de bonne famille»، ما حسمناهاش.

هاد التفسير ديالنا حتى هو: الجزء الوسطاني كيحط معيار للشريك، والحب فيه كيتقاس بالصدق والنية ماشي بالهضرة. من بعد كيهضر على شي «هو» بالغايب. النص ما كيقولش واش هاد «هو» هو مول التاج، ولا الشخص اللي كيغني كيهضر على راسو، ولا صورة عامة ديال الشريك المزيان. وواحد من هاد السطور ترجمناه بالمستقبل، ويقدر يكون دعوة بالخير ليها.
المقطع الأخير مكتوب بصيغة «أنا». فقراءتنا، هاد المقطع كيجاوب على الوعود اللي قبلو: لا التاج ولا الكلام الزوين كيكفيو، واللي كيدوم مع الوقت هو «العشرى» (هكا مكتوبة فالنص). ترجمناها «la vie commune»، وتقدر تتقرا «la complicité» ولا «la fidélité de longue date». و«تخمام» ترجمناه «pensées»، ويقدر يكون «soucis»؛ ما حسمناش.
